Actually I'm using some spare time to redesign some library in my github and I have started with ST7735 as a playground for test new features.

Apart speed optimizations and full SPI transaction support I have decided to experiment a new font rendering engine that can use different fonts and rle-compressed fonts, not an easy task! Any approach it's RAM consuming and I don't want waste too much resources so I'm still working on it.
I liked a lot the Paul's idea of font compression, I spent several weeks to create something usable but the big work it's on the compressor itself, I personally hate python (maybe in the future I will change completely idea) so I have used Qt but still far from have something really usable, in the meantime I hve worked on RLE encoder that it's the easies way to compress fonts.
As I said the library it's a playground, so if you have suggestions or any note I will appreciate, it will be useful for me for future upgrade to other libraries.
