Hah. I have a more expensive solution that is very effective at ensuring you won't have any issues with being able to go to sleep: Children!
No Teensy required. YMMV. Etc.

There's several groups using radar or near ultrasonic to detect movement & breathing. One claims to identify 2 persons in bed.

All told, it gives you a crude measure of sleep.
