I have another exercise for you: right now, on startup the four instruments zero one after the other. First NAV1, then NAV2, then ADF then the compass. It's very easy to make them rotate at the same time and stop on zero. Try figuring out how.

I will and I have a suspicion it is similar to the digital to synchro sketch.

I think the AMS magnetic rotary encoders are briljant: there is one out there that will generate up to 500 pulses per revolution : that in combo with a SPI/I2C (not sure) using these pulses to be interrupts would make an excelent way of determing the angle and would significantly decrease complex code
