I'm looking to add a four channel thermocouple input (https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/products/analog/sensors-and-sensor-interface/MAX6694.html) to a new design, but the device says it's SMBus compatible. I'm not entirely sure what that means other than it's somewhat a relative of i2c (which I've also not really used).
Is this something that will be challenging enough that I should find another part? I found a prior thread about a new i2c library where smbus was mentioned but not in much detail. Anyone know enough to point me in the right direction? Worst case I'll just use individual amplifiers and connect to the teensy analog inputs, but it'd be nice to do multiple thermocouples from a single chip.
