Freescale has a kind of lazy documentation practice. The chapters on peripherals are generic info they just copy and paste for all chips. So in chapter 35, you see a lot of language about 2 to 8 channels.

Chapter 3 has the specific details like how many channel each FTM timer actually has.
 
Yeah, I had to download tens of app notes (FTM related) from their website but still the learning curve is very steep.

Paul, I read on another thread that you were using FTM timers on analogWrite library but I didn't manage to find it (I searched inside /hardware/teensy/avr/cores/teensy3/analog.c). Could you point me to the right library file?

I couldn't find it either. Can see a lot of stuff about DAC0 in there though.
No idea how that's being used the control the PWM
