PIC chips... few/no experts on that here.
Micropython is (exclusively?) targeting ARM Cortex and Micron's PIC32 and PIC8 are in a different universe. Micron acquired Atmel who does have ARM. But it's more sensible to use an existing adaptation and most are for ST Micro's MCUs.
