Directly connect a USB MIDI controller to a Teensy

    Hi!

What I'd like is to connect a USB MIDI controller directly to a Teensy and make them communicate via MIDI. I can not find similar project, so if you know one, I'd love the link.

Would it be as straight forward than having a USB plug soldered to VUSB D+ D- GND and an external power supply on Vin and GND? Or is it something I am missing?

Any input really appreciated! Thank you!

teensy can not act as a usb midi host... if your controller has old school midi out you are in luck. The whole usb device to teensy as usb host has been discussed a few times. I think the upshot is a usb host board. they are pretty cheap, and output serial to the teensy (from memory). There are a number of posts on the issue. I'll find them for you later .......

Thank you adrian, now I know it is called USB host, it helps a lot.

So, probably this won't work either?

I can not find the upshot.

    But I found this:

    Is it something similar?
