This may be out of place (not specifically Teensy-related), but I've seen a number of people here doing LED-strip projects...

Has anyone tried using a linear lens with your LED strip? This is a cylindrical lens that focuses the light along one axis only, for example projecting more of the light horizontally and less of it up and down. Here is an example of what I'm thinking of:
https://euson.en.alibaba.com/product/60074552441-213392406/Optical_LED_lens_30_degree.html
My question is, if anyone's tried it, are you aware of a source for this in limited qty (like 6 meters)? I've only seen this kind of thing from one source "Dachang Plastic" and only on Alibaba with a minimum order of 1 km (!) length.

I could also use a simple half-round cylinder, locally available such as
http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_rods_tubes_shapes/half_round/153
but that's not as good a lens as an asphere section, like the extrusions actually intended for lens use.

EDIT: I think the half-round is probably good enough. I would delete this post, except I don't know how to do that.

perhaps a stripe of transparent silicone would do the same ? i guess you need an air-gap to achieve the refraction.
maybe google knows more about the light-refraction on silicone..
