Can teensy use Audio library and Firmata library at the same time?

Status
Not open for further replies.
These should work together, but this combination hasn't been tested (as far as I know). If you do run into problems, post a detailed report here with code and enough detail to reproduce it.

The one issue you might run into is Firmate reconfiguring pins to GPIO mode. You didn't say which audio library features you're planning to use. But if you use I2S or SPI (the SD card, serial flash memory, or external RAM), Firmata can of course take over those pins if you send the pin configure commands for those pins. Many Firmata host applications exist. Some might does this... again, so little info in your question, hard to know if you're going to control the Firmata messages or use some one of those already-created host applications. If you do run into problems, please try to think "reproducible" when you post.

thanks Paul...!
I want to link max and teensy Because I want to make a device like a sampler.
This device will have microphone input and speakers, but I2sAudioInput does not work well.(Firmata and I2SAudioOutput are working.)
The code I wrote is a combination of "standardFirmata" and the image below...

Which Teensy and what version of Teensyduino are you using?

If not the latest 1.31, please update and confirm the problem happens with 1.31.

I was using 1.30...
I Updated・・・!

I found a mistake in code...
Fixed code below

~~~ void setup() {
// put your setup code here, to run once:
Serial1.begin(9600);
AudioMemory(12);
sgtl5000_1.enable();
sgtl5000_1.volume(0.5);
sgtl5000_1.inputSelect(AUDIO_INPUT_MIC);
sgtl5000_1.micGain(36);
delay(1000);
Firmata.setFirmwareVersion(FIRMATA_FIRMWARE_MAJOR_ VERSION, FIRMATA_FIRMWARE_MINOR_VERSION);
Firmata.attach(ANALOG_MESSAGE, analogWriteCallback);
Firmata.attach(DIGITAL_MESSAGE, digitalWriteCallback);
Firmata.attach(REPORT_ANALOG, reportAnalogCallback);
Firmata.attach(REPORT_DIGITAL, reportDigitalCallback);
Firmata.attach(SET_PIN_MODE, setPinModeCallback);
Firmata.attach(SET_DIGITAL_PIN_VALUE, setPinValueCallback);
Firmata.attach(START_SYSEX, sysexCallback);
Firmata.attach(SYSTEM_RESET, systemResetCallback);
// to use a port other than Serial, such as Serial1 on an Arduino Leonardo or Mega,
// Call begin(baud) on the alternate serial port and pass it to Firmata to begin like this:
// Serial1.begin(57600);
// Firmata.begin(Serial1);
// However do not do this if you are using SERIAL_MESSAGE
Firmata.begin(Serial1);
while (!Serial) {
; // wait for serial port to connect. Needed for ATmega32u4-based boards and Arduino 101
}~~~
