I'm trying to install Teensyduino on openSUSE.
I only found one old topic here which didn't give me a solution to my problem.

I have set the permissions correctly (and made it executable) by setting it in the console like this: chmod 755 TeensyduinoInstall.linux32 (as indicated in the instructions).

Then I typed in the console sudo ./TeensyduinoInstall.linux32 (with and without sudo)

Instead of installing I get this: "Can't open display: "

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
Ingo

Hopefully some of the more linux experts can help you.

I have not used openSUSE so again take with a grain of salt... I have used Ubuntu on several different boards...

The Teensyduino install program requires a GUI to install. So for example I can not install it over a PuTTY (or KiTTY) window. Instead I need to install it from either a command window that is running on the desktop or from double clicking on it after I have set to make it an executable. I have done this on some boards using a VNC window to the board.

Again hopefully some other users have better suggestions.
