This has been a long time coming!
I'm nearing completion of Stella, an electronic trumpet I've been working on with a team from Boston University.
The instrument lets trumpet players control MIDI using their typical trumpet technique. At the moment, the code is open source, and the plan is to sell the hardware to allow others to tinker with the instrument.
