Teensy 3.5 serial port (port busy)

Hi,

I have a Teensy 3.5 I installed my app and after reboot selected the Teensy Com port. when I opened the Serial monitor it said "Error opening serial port "COM4" (port busy), I have changed ports, reprogrammed, rebooted but it still says the same thing. anyone any ideas?

if you plugged in teensy after you had serial monitor open it could happen (at least from the older IDE), havnt had issues here
 
It usually implies that some other app is using that port... As tonton81 mentioned if you have another IDE window open with that port active, this can happen...

Or maybe something is screwed up with your comm ports... Every so often I go through the process, and delete most all of my logically created comm ports from my windows machine. I often do this as I am always plugging different things in... Easy to find instructions, like try google: remove unused com ports windows 10
