Lightsaber sound from a computer sound card

Note, this forum discusses the microprocessor Teensy. Typically sound cards made for normal computers won't work on the Teensy. Since you didn't mention which sound card you are planning to use or whether you've programmed Teensys before, it is hard to say whether it would work or not.

That being said, you can make light sabers with Teensys. There is a company that sells the parts and software to make your own light saber:

Here are directions for making a lightsaber that I found via a google search:

If you wanted a more DIY approach, you could presumably build one with a Teensy 3.2, prop shield with motion sensor, some LED sticks (either neopixels/ws2812b or dotsarts/apa102), and a speaker:

Here is an older article I saw on how to make your own lightsaber sounds:

And here is a place that offers pre-recorded lightsaber sounds:

That being said, if you are starting out fresh, it will probably be a tough slog to learn everything (programming, soldering, etc.). However, the only way to learn is to start. You probably want to start with easier things and work your way up to a lightsaber.
