Adding a gain to the AudioInputAnalog signal

Hi,

I would like to adjust the gain to the AudioInputAnalog signal in my teensy audio board, I'm using a contact microphone and currently adding another gain stage would be out of the question. The audio captured on Audacity does allow me to change the gain which reveals the signal I'm looking for.

Is there anyway to increase the gain in the Teensy 3.6 itself? (I would like to increase it by 50-100x)

Thanks!

No, sorry, there's no hardware support in the chip for more gain.

You'll need to add an opamp or other physical circuitry if you want hardware-based signal gain.

Is there anyway to do a software gain? Like 50x of the signal?

Yes, of course, just use a mixer and set the gain to 50.0.

Of course you can expect software only gain to amplify the input noise, so the results won't be nearly as good as using a proper low noise analog amplifier. But maybe it'll still be good enough?
