I wish to receive MIDI events from a USB-based MIDI controller (EasyControl.9). Some questions:
  1. Is communicating with the MIDI device via a USB hub the best way? Can Teensy do USB searches and things?
  2. Does the Teensy need to be put into its USB-as-MIDI mode? My guess is that the answer is "no".
  3. Will connecting the MIDI device to the Teensy via a female-to-micro adapter work? i.e. Can Teensy play host without additional hardware?

Well, I didn't know this before, but it looks like the Teensy 3.6 can be a USB host. Looks like I'll have to get some of these... :)

It looks like the answer to question #3 is clearly "no". But I'm still curious how Teensy 3.2 works with other devices connected to the same USB hub. Can something that can't be a host even talk to other devices on the same hub?
