Other than when I lose "serial output" the led continued to blink, I reopened serial monitor and after next flash it worked. I don't think this was a code issue as the led continued to blink, and that requires ACK processing to happen whereas F&F's do not, so if the led can blink and the serial monitor was picky, im inclined it was the teensyduino serial monitor issue since reflashing both master and slave show its working with the same files i posted here at 11MHz and 0,10 LCMode (the led is a dead giveaway it works because it's more work to handle doing 2-way handshake to toggle than sending the F&F's

OK, on LC, Fastest is working
on Smallest compile, it'll work if you comment out events() from master at 11MHz master mode

I'll have to see through those 4 blocks of events to see whats being broken by the optomizer

I edited all stages blocks up till the begin of the SERIAL section, it's working on Smallest.
Hopefully this is it, we got off track trying to work at a speed that SPI0 didn't support so it took us off course

EDIT, i recompiled as Fastest and it still works....

Ok. Something strange going on - remember start and stops we had on SPI0 - this is about 100 times worse and the master only sporadically gets the transfers from the slave. The LED blinks away happily.... regardless of anything else going on.

Try this file, it includes the patches that work on Smallest and Fastest all the way down to eeprom section, so it will work with the current sketches i posted earlier

The ABOVE test file was only F&F patched. Try this one

EDIT, I flashed your slave sketch, it's working perfect
EDIT2, flashed your master using the 11MHz zip file and it's working perfect as well

Like I said the test_cpp only had F&F Patched, so try using "11MHz--EEPROM.zip"
 
Heres a good news update - just recompiled the slave at Fastest and its working fine... Going to do smallest again just as a double check - stay tuned.

Update: Ok, strange, reloaded at smallest and seems to be working now. For some reason it didn't work the first time.... I am really beginning to dislike the LC :(
 
Yeah probably - but something still weird going on - the lc is now periodically resetting itself - am currently at smallest. Will retry at fastest with the new lib.

LC will only reset if your MISO pin (5) is loose, other pins are hot swappable
check your wire
 
Testing fastest and absolutely no issues - working great now. You see you forgot to tell me to compile at Fastest so I compiled at smallest and we found an issue :) Yes I know - my fault again :)
 
Teensyduino 1.42Beta5 here with Smallest compile, just saying it works here with your sketch we have exact code now so check wiring :p, else dont_know; :p
 
I know I have a loose usb cable so that is probably why the resets. :(

Anyway, smallest and fastest work here now as well ----- so I think we killed the LC issues :) at least for now :)

You deserve a break from this before you go back to work. I'll go play with your other library for awhile and see what I can break over there. :)
 
Your MST working now on LC with Smallest? :)

My guess was the compiler (using Smallest) turned the 2 if conditionals (which looked similar) and optimized it to an elseif, that would have definately caused the issue with the LC registers
 
Hi, sorry to bother, but could someone sum up all latest library files needed for this to work.

I have a simple sketch running on Arduino nano switched to SPI slave reading data from atmega128 - master.
It works just fine - the atmega gets some sort of input, it sends one byte to SPI that the arduino receives and does its thing.

No I am trying to make something similar with Teensy (I have 3.2 and LC available) but I can not even compile the example slave.ino... For now I would like to just receive one byte to test whether it works at all. With possible expansion to more bytes and then including the fastled library to control rgb pixels.

I downloaded all the latest MSTransfer and MSTransfer_slave libraries that i found in the thread, i am using aurduino IDE 1.8.5 and latest Teensyduino.
 
Ah, I was starting to think it might be... Thanks for the confirmation.
Have to find another solution then.

Any idea if something like SPCR |= bit (SPE); - set slave mode, and then reading the SPDR register on arduino would work with Teensy?

However, the title may be misleading a bit as it's an SPI interface library (not I2C per say), which is however capable of remotely accessing the I2C/Serial/SPI peripherals attached to the slave. It's also the first library to enable all SPI port slave support for Teensy LC and 3.x series (SPI/SPI1/SPI2)
