I have put together a little board using the ATMEGA32u4 chip and it isn't recognized when the USB is attached.
I get the following in the Device manager:
The circuit is shown below:
The crystal does not continue to oscillate. When the circuit is powered up, it oscillates for a second and stops.
It also oscillates while the Reset button is depressed and stops when released.
The crystal is 8Mhz https://www.digikey.com/product-det...NX3225GD-8MHZ-STD-CRA-3/644-1178-1-ND/3125567
The oscillator caps are 10pf. I have doubled (piggybacked) them up to 20 pf and its still does not work. I replaced the crystal and eventually replaced the chip, but still no luck
The battery is a LiPoly. I verrified the power and grounds on the chip and double checked the voltages.
I have a Teensy 2 on hand and can see its crystal oscillating continuously on my scope.
I imagine it is something simple. I did not see a lot of info on the 32u4 chip w/ bootloader and assumed it would operate like a Teensy 2.0 when started.
Maybe it is not programmed the same as the teensy2?
Any help would be appreciated.
