Teensy++ 2.0 USB out via pins rather than port?

Hi all,

First post here, so apologies in advance for any mistakes in protocol!

I'm wondering if it's possible to connect the Teensy++ 2.0's USB directly to a PCB, rather than having to use a cable via the standard port?

As it stands I'll be running a cable inside a case from the Teensy's USB connector up to a USB connector on the surface of the case. It seems like it'd make more sense to access the USB via the pins, and then link to a surface mount female USB which I can put on the top of the PCB, with everything else that's up on the front plate.

Many thanks for any info!

James

This won't be easy, because the USB D+ & D- signals on Teensy++ 2.0 don't go to any (relatively) easily accessible pads like they do on the Teensy 3.x boards. You'd probably need to desolder the 22 ohm resistors and then very carefully solder tiny wires to the very small exposed pads. Not easy, but I suppose it could be done if you have a good microscope or magnifier and excellent soldering skill.
