I'm looking at the specifications here https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/techspecs.html but it doesn't give the maximum current each device device can supply to external circuitr or how much is available for the Teensy and external circuits have to share.

How much current can the Teensy LC, 3.2, 3.5 and 3.6 supply allowing for the current needed to run the Teensy?

I realize the amount of current the Teensy board itself requires depends on the clock rate etc. Are there guidelines on how much current is available for external use under different conditions?

At 3.3V, 100 mA for Teensy LC and 250 mA for the others.

On VIN & VUSB (nominally 5 volts), you're limited by the USB port & cable and the PTC "fuse", which is 350 mA on Teensy LC and 500 mA on the others. When plugged into an unpowered hub, usually the hub imposes a limit of approx 100 mA total, including the current Teensy uses to run. Very cheap USB cables tend to have extremely thin power wires which cause too much voltage loss if you run at higher currents, so if all your power is arriving over the cable be aware of its limits. The USB cables PJRC sells have #24 wire which can usually work for the full 500 mA.
