Long touchscreen cable

I am looking to use the Color Touchscreen on a project in a way that the screen cannot be directly connected to my teensy.
The display will be on the door of the box and the teensy will be on the panel on the back of the box.

I have a very limited set of resources, and other then running 14 wires that are needed to drive the display, I can't seem to find something that seems reasonable.

The display will be about a foot from the teensy. I looked at ribbon cable options, but they all want to use a 2x7 connector and I can't see a way to convert this to a 1x14 pin header.

I have thought of using a 34 conductor cable with a double row and only use every other cable, this just seems ugly, but will do it if I have to.

Has anyone solved this problem in a better way, any thoughts?

If this is the wrong place to ask this kind of question, I apologize.
