The Teensy 3.2 pinout diagram shows 3 SERIAL ports. Are these regular RS-232 or are they TTL?

3.3V TTL. On Teensy 3.2 they're 5V tolerant, so it's ok to connect a signal that goes to 5V to RX1. But the output from Teensy's TX1 pin is a 3.3V signal.
Only Teensy 3.2 and 3.5 are 5V tolerant. The other 32 bit boards can not tolerate a signal that goes higher than 3.3V at their serial RX pins.
