Teensy 3.6 not starting on power-on, only when serial monitor is connected

As the title says, my teensy 3.6 doesn't start when I connect USB cable to the PC, or if I upload a sketch - despite I hear the connection sound from windows. The Teensy only starts (I see the screen and LED's begin their instructions) when I connect to it via the Serial Monitor in teensyduino. I have tried to connect to normal usb wall adapters as well as my PC, obviously. No difference.

Is there something I missed?
