Newbie here, I did google around and was unable to find what I was looking for but please feel free to point me at old links.

I am building a MIDI-over-USB foot controller out of an old hammond organ foot keyboard. I have everything working using the breadbox and am now figuring out how to make it something that is gig ready. I will be building a plywood box that covers the switches, wires, and holds the teensy board. I do not have a lot of room on the end of the switch wires to work with.

My intitial thought was to use 2 12x1 headers, I could solder the wires from the switches into one and solder the other to the board and then plug them into each other, and secure it to the chasis with the USB cable (https://www.pjrc.com/store/cable_usb_panel_micro.html) THen I can have a way to disconnect it. But the board would be floating around.

Will the stackable headers plugged into each other give me a reliable connection? Are there other sort of mounting plug options I should be aware of?

Thanks!!
