Hi guys,

I have a background in ME but am a complete beginner when it comes to hands-on electronics, so bear with me. I've attached photos to help clear up what I'm asking. If another thread has answered this question please post a link to it!

I have a teensy 3.2 connected to a OctoWS2811 Adapter (using stacking headers) and would like to connect to a WS2812B Individual Addressable RGB LED Strip (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG49QKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). My goal for now is just to power a single strip of 60 addressable LEDs. In the future I'd like to have more LED's and get audio synced with it.

I've connected the orange and white/orange wires of a cut CAT6 cable to the the Data (green) and Ground (black) wires of the LED strip.
My questions are as follows:

1) Why are there two Ground wires and two 5v wires on the end of the LED strip? Do all of these need to be connected? From what I've seen online, it looks like one Ground wire needs to be connected to the CAT6 cable (as I've done) and the other needs to be connected to the ground of an external 5V power supply. Meanwhile, only one 5V wire from the LED strip needs to be connected to the 5v power supply. Is this correct?
2) Does the teensy with the OctoWS2811 adapter need to connect to the external power supply in any way, or is having the CAT6 connection to the LED strip and the usb connection to the computer enough?
3) Assuming above is correct, would this external power supply:

connected with this pigtail cord:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073YF3Y3W/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?pd_rd_i=B073YF3Y3W&th=1
be the easiest way to connect to the LED strip if a breadboard is used?

Please let me know if there are any additional details I need to provide to help answer my questions, I'm very appreciative with any help/insight on this!
