I've been testing the new chip HD107S which seems to address most of the issues descibed in APA102 in this compreensive Paul's analysis
https://www.pjrc.com/why-apa102-leds-have-trouble-at-24-mhz/

I've made some tests and it seems the PWM rate is very high (supplies says it it is +26kHz)
it handles data transfer up to 40MHz (I didnt test it yet)
It seems to have built in sleep, very low power consumption when no data is received, and seems to handle better power consumption over the entire strip.

I'll be trying it in a cinema studio to see if the PWM helps a lot with camera frequencies.
Anybody else is trying this kind of strip?

I am also waiting for my HD108 16bit led sample, Newstar declared they are the original supplier, and I compared all the price, their price is most competitive, that's why I chose them addressableledstrip.com
