Teensy 4.0 SDIO footprint

Hi Everybody.

Are the SDIO pads laid out for a certain style SD card socket? I've been looking at ones on Digi-Key and can't guess which one might fit on there. It seems like some of the discrete components nearby might interfere with a PCB mount. Is the intent to have a flat flex cable there instead?

I'd like to try to have a PCB-mounted one anyway, even if it involves an insulator shim and bent pins, unless it interfered with the other GPIO pins. Please advise.

Thanks,
Craig

An adapter to fit wasn't found/planned - it would collide with the USB Host pins. It allows a ribbon to pull the pins out. Look here breakout-board-for-teensy-4-0 - about the 7th pic down with yellow background and you can see a cabled Teensy 4 as Paul delivered it during the Beta.

That pic is just above the parts list showing what is used to build that board.

There is an aftermarket board being developed on this thread Teensy-4-0-Breakout-Kit - it uses a cable of a different sort to get the job done.

Aha thanks for that. 1mm spacing on those pads.
That's pretty close to the 1.1 mm on a lot of micro SD holders.
Good point about the USB host, but with some kapton tape to cover them up, unused, maybe a kludge could work.
