Greetings and a first, simple question
Hi All,
Just received my Teensy 4 and matching rev D audio board. Nephew's Halloween costume, here I come....
I also bought a pair of the fancy double-insulator headers.
In the example photo, the audio board is on top and it seems like extra length of the pins above the audio board has been trimmed off.
Before I do something that's tough to reverse, I'm wondering:
- Is it better to put one or the other board on top? Having the Teensy on top gives better access to the reset button, but....
- Is there a problem with not trimming the pins above the top board as it seems like they'd be useful for off-board connections?
Thanks in advance!

Much better to plan in advance …
If you look here Paul did Audio on bottom to allow his comically large heat sink on top: https://forum.pjrc.com/threads/58007...l=1#post219110
Just below that I have the Audio board on top - and I can use a 0.25" tall heat sink under Audio board.
If either would be better … can't say … but Paul did build on as linked ...

Is a heat sink needed or is this an overclocking thing?

It shouldn't be. It's just going to make a "robot voice" (vocoder, ...) and perhaps push some prerecorded sounds out a speaker.
I decided to just jump, here's what I ended up with:

Heat Sink not required unless overclocked. 600-800 Mhz seems to generally be okay. Certainly 600 if not encased with trapped heat should be no trouble.
I just noted because it isn't precluded - though pushing the PGM button is when Audio on top.
