Hello
Before I dive in to buying two audio shields I would like ti know if it is possible to get two inputs and five outputs.
I know that quad outputs are possible but I would need one more.
I would like to make a digital crossover filter.
Stereo Tweeter output, stereo mid range output and mono subwoofer.

Thank you

Quad I2S has not yet been ported to Teensy 4.0, so today only stereo is possible.

Eventually quad I2S and even more I2S options will someday be written for Teensy 4.0. Early 2020 is a likely time frame. Right now all the engineering time is going into the missing USB types, so unless someone decides to do it themselves, these other I2S options won't be coming to Teensy 4.0 until after progress is made on the USB types.

Even on Teensy 3.2, 3.5, 3.6, quad I2S gives 4 inputs and 4 outputs. You can't get a 5th output that way.

But you can have 6 inputs and 8 outputs if you use TDM with a CS42448 chip.

TDM has been ported to Teensy 4.0, but there's little documentation. It works the same way, but you need to connect the data signals to different pins (pretty much the same as audio shield rev C -> D).

Thank you for a fast reply.
I also have a 3.6...
Hmm how about two shields and one DAC?
