What are the diodes on the Teensy 3.6 VBUS for?

I working on a custom Teensy 3.6 that includes a power management chip and I'm wondering if I need to keep those parallel diodes.
 
They prevent current from leaking into USB host in case the Teensy is powered by external source on 3.3V rail or if power is applied to the second USB port, and the host on the first USB port lacks power or is switched off.
