nothing should be required, should work with any USB type, i'm about to leave for a gig so i won't have time to test every usb type, but i tested it with MIDI and worked like a charm
I think you are actually connecting to Seremu not the raw hid interface. AFAIK the seremu interface is there for all non Serial USB modes. This is the reason why you can simply use Serial.print. Won't work when your Teensy runs as Serial device.
