Teensy 4.0 Snaffu

Hi Everyone,

I made the unfortunate mistake of shorting my breadboard powersupply, which then gave the Teensy 12V on the 5V pin. As you can guess it doesn't work, but I was wondering if there is a way to fix it or just throw it in the graveyard and move on?

Regards,
Mohammed

Chance is high you fried it.
Try to check the resistance of the fuse F on the underside. If it is open, bridge it and try on a short-proof 5V supply.
The CPU itself will probably be a short circuit if it burned out internally, so take care, may fry a USB port as well.
All at your own risk.

It's probably dead.

One last thing to try is external 3.3V power. Connect 3.3V to VBAT first. This is important, since the RTC & power management part of the chip needs power first. Then connect to the 3.3V pin.

If that doesn't bring it back to life, and I'm sad to say the odds are not good, it's dead and not worth wasting more time. 12V is a killer for these chips.
