Teensy 2 maximum input voltage

Hi,

Im using the analogue and digital pins to take readings from various sensors - the Teensy 2s Im using (as subsystems for a RPi) are running of a 5.2v rail - the same one i am using to run the Pi. I am also powering the sensors off the same 5.2V rail. This means that the signal back from the sensors is at around the 5v mark.
At the moment im using voltage divider circuits to bring the voltage back to the Teensy pins down to around 2.4v max.

My question is, do I need to use dividers? Can i wire the signal (both binary (hi/low) and analogue ) using c. 5V directly? What is the tolerance on these pins? Will 5V kill them?

Im very much a novice - and cant find any answers on line other than powering the Teensy itsslef.

Any help welcome
