Difference between MCLK1 and MCLK2

Currently looking to increase the amount of analogue inputs we have going into the teensy 4.1. One suggestion is to connect to the audio shield through pins 3 and 4 instead of 20 and 21. Does anyone know if it would be possible to mix and match MCLK1 with BCLK2 and LRCLK2 or are they ran on seperate timer units meaning that they would be out of sync?
 
MCLK1 and MCLK2 are generated from the same PLL. So usually this can work. But it does depend on whether the chip you're using can tolerate MCLK not being strictly in phase with BCLK. Most I2S chips can. The SGTL5000 on the audio shield definitely can.
