My startup, Bolder Flight Systems, recently completed development and flight validation of a Portable Data Acquisition System (PDAS) for manned aircraft. It was developed with the International Test Pilots School (ITPS). GNSS-aided inertial navigation data, airspeed and altitude data, temperature data, and 12 analog channels are logged at a rate of 200 Hz. The analog channels feature ultra low noise supplies for each channel, anti-alias filters, and differential and single ended input and programmable gain amplifiers making it suitable for measuring strain bridges for pilot stick force or potentiometers for pilot stick position, angle of attack, angle of sideslip, and control surface positions. A web interface enables viewing real-time data (thanks AJAX!), easy configuration, and managing data files. Real-time telemetry is supported through IADS and the whole thing is powered from a USB power source. A Teensy 3.6 is performing all of the magic (i.e. running all of the software). ITPS will be using these to support test pilot and flight test engineer training, aeronautics research, and certification efforts. We will be selling these to other customers as well.
