VIN/VUSB Cut but Teensy Still Powered by USB?

Hi all,
I am working on a project where I am powering my Teensy 3.2 from an external battery so I started off by cutting the trace from VIN to VUSB. The issue is when I plug my Teensy into my computer with no battery connected it still powers on. Should this be the case?

No. See the schematic.
If you plug in USB and can measure 5V on Vin, the bridge is NOT cut. inspect with magnifying glass.
