Programming Button during hibernation mode

Hi,

I'm currently building a remote controll using a Teensy 3.2 and a xbee.
The remote is battery powered so in order to extend battery life I'm putting the Teensy into hibernation using the snooze library.
The Teensy is powered using the Vin pin, there is no USB-cable plugged in.

Everything works fine so far but I came to the realization that the Teensy freezes when I accidentally hit the programming button.

The teensy shows the same behaviour when I use the samples of the snooze library. Therefore I assume the issue is not my code.

My questions would be as follows:
Is this behaviour normal?
If so, is there any way to avoid these freezes (except not hitting the programming button, obviously)?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, this is normal designed behavior of the Program Button.

That Button as Program Button - the bootloader chip halts the Teensy and prepares it for programming whenever it has power.

To wake using snooze library a pin/switch would have to be added that can trigger a wake.

Thank you for clearifying that!

Seems like I have to improve the design of the enclosure of the remote - currently a section of the 3D printed body is triggering the program button...
