MicroMod Beta Testing

I have no MM, and can't test anything, but it think it's fixed. If not.. well, then not.

Note, from now on, I don't support this lib anymore. You can still download or use it - but very likely there will be no updates anymore.
This basic functionality has to be in the core. Not in a lib. Have no idea why it is *still* not in the core.

I'll archive the repo.

Thanks Paul,

Should arrive here later this week :D

In the Mean time I have updated my Teensy 4 excel document up on github with more MicroMod pages/updates.
https://github.com/KurtE/TeensyDocuments/blob/master/Teensy4 Pins.xlsx
.....

Hi, i have connected a wiznet w5500 to SPI1(3) but having problems communicating, is there a chance CS0 and MISO are swapped in your document?
MM pins 17, 19, or Teensy pins 0, 1

is there a chance CS0 and MISO are swapped in your diagram?

Yup, looks like those SPI functions may be mis-labled. The pin with Serial1 transmit has MISO as an alternate peripheral function.

Looking at pin 17:

MicroMod M.2 pin 17
Teensy pin 1
NXP pin AD_B0_02
peripherals (Teensy pinout card): TX1, MISO1, CTX2, PWM

AD_B0_02 mux documentation from the NXP reference manual (pages 471-472):

Where is this particular schematic located? The schematic of Sparkfun's website doesn't show those SPI names.

Was just about to ask the same question - went searching the Sparkfun site and looking at the schematic in post 1 and haven't been able to find that schematic. Also not sure what carrier board you are using but on the ATP carrier board I have been using this, if it helps:

It is possible that there are some problems with my excel document, that was mentioned... although not sure if there is, on which page?

Not sure if I understand you correctly. But as it seems, pin 0 and 1 (top two rows). CS0 and MISO should be swapped.

i guess something on those two lines are wrong

i guess something on those two lines are wrong
Might help to know what is wrong on these two lines:
Pin 0 (MMOD pin 17) is CS0 on SPI1 and (not the is not CS on the SPI object) - I am trying to show which CS of the SPI...
Pin 1 (MMOD pin 19) is the MISO on SPI1... I think...

At least from Paul's stuff above:
Looking at pin 17:

MicroMod M.2 pin 17
Teensy pin 1
NXP pin AD_B0_02
peripherals (Teensy pinout card): TX1, MISO1, CTX2, PWM

the problem is just that the MM pin numbers are swapped?

Pin.........MM Pin
0...........19(should be 17?)
1...........17(should be 19?)

I don't believe so... Could be wrong.

My own test board has:

And while it has other problems, HI/LOW test of ringing out the IO pins appears to work fine...

And likewise if you look at the sparkfun STP board schematic you see:

These 2 numbers might be swapped, but the rest of the info looks correct.

Pin 0 really is AD_B0_03 with Serial1 RX and CAN2 RX and SPI1 CS. But it's connected to M.2 pin #19.

Likewise, pin 1 really is AD_B0_02 with Serial1 TX and CAN2 TX and SPI1 MISO. But it connects to M.2 pin #17.

ye, that's what i am trying to say, not complaining, KurtE's documents have been a great help when designing my carrier board.
But this is the reason i should have tried on the bench before makings pcbs!

Thanks Paul, I think the issue is, that everyone is looking at an earlier version...

I updated the excel document back in July... Maybe I need to update any pictures as well...

Updated the PDF file as well.
Here is a saved image from the pdf:

Sorry about the confusion...

Tried again and got the right info this time. :)

Not sure exactly what I did before. I think I probably clicked the link on msg #980 or #981, but not sure now.

@KurtE Let me take this opportunity to thank you for those files. I use them when I develop on the Micromod. Appreciate it!

@KurtE i also wanna thank you for sharing those files, and sorry for me confusing everything. glad we sorted it out!
Happy new year!

For the heck of it, I updated my MMOD test kitchen sink board and added a few things... As I don't dare waste a square inch of space...

Ordering from PCBWay with partial assembly... This time most all of the SMD...

screenshot.jpg
Includes:
breakout of all of the pins by Teensy number
USB Host
SDIO
DXL Servo support
Simple Audio, mostly for beeps
A t3.2/T4 like connector, to allow plugging in things, like Audio board, or Memory test board, LED board...
And probably > 10 problems

Anyway should be fun.

I'm going to take the plunge and start migrating a T3.6 based system to Teensy Micromod so I'll be designing a board with the M.2 connector.

Does anyone have a Kicad footprint and symbol already made for the Teensy micromod connector? I've done some searching and no luck. I can make them myself, but I expect they're out there somewhere.

thx, Doug
