Hi. I could not find any good advice on this here, so sorry if there is a thread with this already...

I have a project with quite a lot of displays, LEDs and external ICs, so I'm going to need to supply the 3.3V rail with an external regulator. This is not a problem and is currently working, I did cut the trace to seperate VIN from VUSB. Now I wanted to use the USB Host, which obviously needs 5V to operate. How do I provide 5V to the Host Port? I really would like to have the protection of the TPD3S014 chip provided on the board, so can I just provide 5V with another regulator on VIN? Or is it better to just supply the VHOST directly?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Yes, there was no advice there before, and the question was posted some time ago, so sorry again.

Thanks for the advice to just feed the teensy with 5V and create a second 3.3V rail not connected to the teensy for all the power-hungry stuff. I will try this.

Thanks also for being here anyway, I have learned a lot from your posts all the years!

Cheers Tom
