I have one of the Teensy 3.6 audio adapters and would like to know a bit more about the performance of the SGTL5000 chip. The datasheet quotes the channel separation only at 1kHz. Does anyone have any information or experience about how the channel separation changes with increasing frequency up to, say, 20kHz?

If its not in the datasheet, I imagine you'd have to measure this yourself. Typically separation decreases with increasing
frequency, but it may not be a big issue at audio frequencies.

The SGTL5000 is designed for stereo signals, not indepedent channels, and for stereo separation is not a crucial
spec, even 40dB separation will be perfectly adequate for human ears.

Separation will be affected by the output loading I suspect, as the common ground pin and bond wire shares the
return currents of both channels.
