I've followed this guide https://learn.adafruit.com/supernova-poi/

I uploaded the code and soldered everything together, the LEDs work as intended after the program.
However I couldn't get the IR remote to work so I wanted to upload some new code to see what's what.
But whenever I connect it to USB the Li-Po backback lights up but my PC doesn't recognize that somethings been connected.

Why is this? and how can I solve it?

Does it have anything to do with me connecting the backback/battery and cutting the required traces/bridges?
I find it hard to believe since you need to be able to upload new images and such, and programming it should always be available.

Thanks !

When you plug in the USB cable to the Li-Po backpack, which LEDs on the backpack light up? And what is the voltage on the BAT pin that connects to the Teensy 3.2 Vin pin? Do you have the battery connected?

I assume that you have connected the backpack like below and cut the trace on the Teensy 3.2?

Perhaps you can make a close-up photo of your actual setup?
