Hi, We have developed a prototype project based on the Teensy 3.2 and we were moving forward with a custom PCB utilizing the 3.2 reference design and PJRC bootloader chip. We are not able to get the MK20DX64VLH7 chip at this time but are under a time crunch. Can we substitute with the MK20DX64VLH5 and keep everything thing else the same? Seems like it is just the speed that is different (72 MHz for the VLH7 and 50 MHz for the VLH5) and could adjust the clock speed setting at compile time?

Can this be a simple substitution or are we missing something else?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

VLH5 chips definitely will not work.

If you only need a small number of MK20DX256VLH7 (like under 100) PJRC might be able to help. I know we have some extra chips left over from the most recent build, but it's not a huge number.

Wow Paul that could be awesome. we only need about 8 total as we are still in the prototyping phase. We did already buy some of the VLH5 as a safety but if you don't recommend that swap I would like to see if we could get them from you. How do I go about getting those?

Email Robin directly about how to order those MK20DX256VLH7 chips.

Monday is a US holiday, so Tuesday is the soonest anything can ship.
