Hi all,

Been a very long time since i've been here, but I'm planning a project for public installation that will use PIRs to trigger wav files to multiple zones independently.
Sure I can do this with one controller and audio shield per zone pretty easily, but I want to try to get as many zones as possible out of as few controllers as possible.

What I am looking at building is either 2 or 4 Teensy 4.0 class devices with 1 or 2 audio shields each.
How hard is it to play 2 mono wavs out of each channel of an audio shield independantly? how far can I push it? is there a multicahnnel audio board available that would handle 8x 16 bit 44.1khz streams at once with one 4.1 controller?

Just looking for input for now.

cheers.

There are cheap mp3 modules with sd slot around 5€ - i think you don't even need an Arduino. Might be the better solution (because much simpler) in this case.
