Hi. I'm using a Teensy 4.0 and Audio Adaptor board to perform some audio processing. I am driving the board with a mono signal from an almost 100' long shielded balanced cable coming from a mixer. I would prefer to have balanced input to reduce noise. Would the following make sense?

The two inputs of the audio board are single-ended. What if I take the two wires of my balanced signal and wire them to the left and right inputs of the audio board. (The ground wire would go to audio ground.) Then I take the left and right signals and feed them into the mixer object, with a gain of 1 and -1 respectively. Shouldn't this remove the common noise in the signal? What am I missing?
