puzzled about how to post a photo from my mac

I need to post a photo of a breadboard setup that is not working after over a week of trying/waiting for parts. On my mac when I click the insert image icon, I can browse to the file but only the name of the file, not the enclosing folder structure, shows up in the name. I don't seem to be able to edit that to insert the route to the file and the upload always fails. What am I doing wrong?

I am on OS12.0.1 today but the same thing was happening a couple of days ago on 11.6.

Use the basic-uploader?

This is a random image file on my Mac I did that way

I am still befuddled. If I click 'Go Advanced' I see another way to upload, but I seem to run into the same issue. I think it uses the same browse mechanism.

It likely is a size issue, for pictures it's pretty easy to be higher than what is allowed, here is the allowed filetypes and their limits.

...

I found that help file of sizes - seems image limits may have been changed behind the scenes toward 1MB IIRC ,,, seeing a couple in my stack at 400+, 600+ and one over 700 KB

WHen it is too large it just fails without good notice.

Sorry I don't use my mac much...

Will see what happens... I did a portion screen shot:
Then clicked on the embed picture button, did the browse, to it on desktop, then clocked the upload button... Now lets see if it shows up.

If it shows attached then it worked, but like defragster says it fails without any notice at all so it can be confusing for those who don’t already know.

Yes understand... but note this is not a MAC specific thing....

Also was trying to show the steps I do for uploading picture... As you said, sometimes if you click the upload under the picture... It will just fail and not upload....

At times I really wish that maybe the forums could update to newer better forum software... But then again I think Paul can only be stretched so thin...
