How to connect external speaker to Audio Shield and Teensy 4.0

I have an Audio Shield and Teensy 4.0 which I soldered together and I can play audio through USB input and headphones as output.

However, I want to play audio using an SD card and a small speaker I bought.
I connected the Audio Shield to the external speaker using LineOut. Is this correct?

I would also like to know how I can configure the Audio System Design Tool to test out the external speaker.

External speaker used: https://www.digikey.sg/en/products/detail/soberton-inc/SP-2027NW/9924407

Thank you in advance!

Don't think you should connect that speaker (4ohm) directly to the SGTL5000
as in the SGTL datasheet
the minimum load for lineout is 10kohm
and for the headphone 16ohm

It could work for the headphone output
but you will not get that high sound levels
and maybe also damage the SGTL

There are a lot of small amplifier boards that you can use
I don't have any recommendations.

You will find plenty small amplifier boards low budget, e.g. PAM8403, PAM8406.

The i2s output in the audio library / system design tool connects the output both to headphone and line output.
In the SGTL5000 part you can mute/unmute and change levels seperately. See documentation there (e.g. in the online GUI).
