Teensy 4.0 for a USB keyboard

So the project is converting an Apple //c keyboard to USB. So I saw a project using the 2.0 board and assumed the 4.0 would also work. Am I missing something or are there just less pins on the 4.0 than the 2.0 and does that mean I need to find a 2.0 to do this? The idea was to use point to point wiring instead of a pcb just to be cheap but with the same idea as with this breakout board.
