Adding Ethernet to Teensy 4.1 without the PHY chip

Hi all,

- We are building a project based on the Teensy 4.1 and we need Ethernet.
- The supply of Ethernet Teensy 4.1's is drying up / has dried up.
- We have only two left...

Update: June 19, 2022: Due to shortages and price increases on the Ethernet PHY chip, we are making Teensy 4.1 with and without the Ethernet feature. We have small batch of Teensy 4.1 in production, due by June 20. All Teensy 4.1 arriving in June will be without ethernet. A larger batch is scheduled for July. The July batch will be about 60% with Ethernet, 40% without Ethernet

I can imagine there are more people facing this problem.

What are the options of adding Ethernet to non-Ethernet Teensy 4.1's ?

This question is posted as "not project specific" on purpose.
More like a question to start a brainstorm about the options available.

My my 2¢, I have an ENC28J60 lying around, but what about W51xx chips/modules?
Or other Ethernet modules I (and others) might not know about?

Thanks for the info :)

We were able to order a few with ethernet at the normal price, hope supply will be fine again soon.
