MicroMDAEPiano on Teensy 4.1 enchantingly unusable

I'm trying to get MicroMDAEPiano working on my Teensy4.1 Board. After jumping through a lot of hoops to get it to compile, it sadly wont take any input from me instead seems to be stuck on the "Load sound/Edit Sound" Screen that appears to be frozen. I do know that usb audio works, since it showers my ears with what sounds a lot like a windchime as soon as its running. it also seems to be registering one of the 2 encoders because every once in a while, it shows up in the debug output. I recorded the audio for your pleasure.
Development seems to have stopped around the same time as microdexed (the non touch version) about 2 years ago so teensy4.1 support should be in the cards although it doesn't seem to be explicitly mentioned in the code.
From what i can hear and since the serial output is sporadic i suspect its getting bombarded by some phantom midi input input that keeps it busy.
I do not use a teensy audio board, but i attached a 12s audio board.
Has anyone gotten this to work on a teensy 4.1?
