Clicking / Ticking noise in audio?

Hello, was curious if there is anything I can do to eliminate or at least minimize a ticking / clicking noise I am getting from my Teensy 4.1 with audio shield 4.0 (Rev D)... (It sounds like 1 tick per second)

I am using a AOM5024 electret capsule and the SD is in the shield. I noticed when talking louder it seems to make a pattern like tick noise about 1 per second. All wires have also been shielded.

Try the latest version of the code … yes, we do recognise this, even when you only post an uncompilable fragment…
Try using the Teensy 4.1’s built-in SD slot, it can run the card faster
Try with it not plugged in to your PC, just use a phone charger to power it

Can I ask what I need to change for SD to write to the 4.1 rather than audio shield? I have attempted multiple times but perhaps I am not doing this correctly.

Also, this noise is happening when using a battery 3.7V battery to power the unit with adafruit booster.

ah, I was able to change it to write to the SD card... now I have the dreaded skipping issue.. A couple things to note.. I have attempted different SD formats and am utilizing Sandisk A1 32GB.......... This is running on an external battery.. no PC involved when testing.. Everything worked great on the audio shield now that I switch to BUILTIN_SDCARD on the T4.1 it skips bad. I did read the other forum and didn't find a solution.. any ideas?
