My teensy port is not recognized

Hello out there. I just got a Teensy 4.1 and I plugged it into Arduino IDE, installed Teensyduino and i dont see the Teensy port showing up at all. It just says "Teensy 4.1 [not connected]" in the lower right corner.

I am using a standard USB A --> USB C adapter to plug in the Teensy into my Mac. The LED flash program runs on the Teensy fine.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

I am on a MacBook Pro (Intel) 2019. Running Ventura. Arduino IDE 2.2.1.
 
If I'm correct, the MacBook Pro (Intel) 2019 has only USB-C type ports. You would need a USB-C to micro-USB cable to connect to the Teensy 4.1.
Perhaps try a different cable? Make sure that it is not a charge-only cable but a full data cable.
